At the Edge of the Wood. I'm a long time lover of nature programs. But what I missed seeing was what was going on at my bird feeders...interaction between different bird families and even different species...namely squirrels. The Blue Jays sound an alarm, and the black-capped chickadees listen. The squirrels jump away as the woodpeckers fly in, and then stare them down.Everyone freezes at the sign of a hawk. It's a regular soap opera of emotion and interaction. With some of the best bird seed east of the Hudson and some no-fail radio triggers, I got to listen in.
