Tumbleweed Tuesday is phrase we use on the East End of Long Island. It's the day after Memorial Day when all the summer people have gone. The pace of life slows, the landscape comes alive with Autumn, the squirrels and birds outnumber the cars. There is a sigh of preparation for winter, there is beauty as the low sun strikes the trees, the ducks return. There is the vastness of the gifts of Mother Earth.
